Villa Madame, in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés
Located in what is undoubtedly the most charming area of Paris, the hotel Villa Madame is waiting for you behind the façade of an elegant private house, in a quiet street close to the Luxembourg Garden. Welcome to a truly historic place: the street was named after Madame, wife of Monsieur, who was the brother of King Louis XVI and went on to become King Louis XVIII. The famous writer and philosopher Albert Camus lived at number 29 and several renowned painters have also lived on Rue Madame.
An exclusive hotel, ideally located for exploring Paris
Ideally located, guests can walk from Villa Madame to visit monuments and attractions nearby: Saint-Sulpice church, the Odéon theatre, the Luxembourg Garden, Notre-Dame and the Louvre, to name but a few.
In this vibrant yet quiet neighbourhood, you’re just moments from the Café de Flore, where the memory of the great philosophers and artists who used to visit so often, including Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir, Boris Vian and the poets Guillaume Apollinaire, Louis Aragon and Paul Eluard, lives on.
On your walk, you could also visit La Closerie des Lilas, the restaurant and bar which was so popular with Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway and, before them, Oscar Wilde. If you’re keen to go shopping, high-end designers and Le Bon Marché are just moments away. And of course, you can choose from the city’s seemingly endless art galleries, bookshops, restaurants and tea rooms for the perfect stay in Paris.
